12 Tags of 2016 is here as Tim Holtz brings us another year of challenges! This time he’s master mixing it up with a remix of techniques! I love these challenges. I love to see where the technique or products take me and I love to see where it takes others who play along. It’s like a big craft party each month!
I’m moving to Denmark in a couple of months and my mood is pretty grey. Because of this I couldn’t get excited about silver, black and white. This tag needed warm colours for me and so it was alcohol ink to the rescue. And this is exactly why I love these challenges, you literally have no idea where you are going to end up, well at least I don’t. It’s like Narnia!
With travel on the mind at the moment, I opted for the globes texture fades folder, it’s one of my current favourites.
I have been thinking a lot about home too, so I used the Paris to London stamp set by Tim Holtz.
This tag really was the truest form of “art therapy” for me. I’m hoping that the Scandanavians are a creative bunch and want to get inky with me. With the gorgeous array of chunky knitwear and Denmark being the home of design, the odds are in my favour, right?! I CAN DO THIS!
Thanks for stopping by. You can see all the techniques for this month’s tag on Tim’s blog. I’ll be back tomorrow with a second tag!
I love it. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I really enjoy your blog.
Oh Zoe! How ever you turned this dull tag into a work of art just amazes me! I had the hardest time ever with the color scheme and here you’ve turned it on its head! So impressive. Super sorry to hear you’ve got the blues (or blue-greys) but I think you’re right – surely you will find some like minded crafters and this will be just another adventure. Hang in there and I hope to see your creative releases as you work out your feelings. Hugs, Autumn
Cool to do a travel theme combining the techniques. Fab take!
Oh don’t be grey! You’ll be coming to see me in a few weeks in Milan and that is nothing to be grey about! Oh right and the tag was worth all that waiting you made me do repeating that song in my head!
Being danish myself, Denmark is not too bad (when it comes to creativity at least). The upside of a long, dark winter is a lot of crafting time! There are a lot of creative blogs (most are in danish), and quite a few hobby shops with a nice amount of nice things. It depends somewhat on where in Denmark you are moving, the area around Copenhhagen is most awesome with regards to hobby/crafting stores, but there´s always the internet otherwise. Nationwide you will find chain stores like Panduro hobby (www.pandurohobby,dk) (all sorts of crafting stuff, but high prices (normally I wait for sales :)), “stof 2000” and “stof og stil” (mostly fabric and fabric related stuff (stof=fabric in danish))(www.stof2000.dk and http://www.stofogstil.dk). Søstrene Grenes is low price store with all sorts of stuff, but they have quite a nice selection of crafting supplies, and really low prices. Same for the Tiger stores. When it comes to papercrafting/mixed media, I am a big fan of this shop (mostly online bases, since it´s now situated on a tiny island) https://hobbyboden.dk/shop/frontpage.html.
https://thepapercrafting.com/ is a scandinavian online magazine/home page about what is going on papeercraftingwise in scandinavia (as the name suggests), and they also have lists of hobby stores, and scandinavian blogs, might give you a good overview. This is just from the top of my head, feel free to contact me for more details, I have over 20 years experience of crafting in Denmark 🙂
I think its a great tag and super fun theme.
Zoe, a fabulous tag, as always. Don’t worry about Denmark…. Just think of it as a new adventure and not a challenge. Think of all the crafting people you’ll meet there too….it’ll be fun.Besides there will always be us online. Hugs C. X
