Hello friends and happy monday! Are you still buzzing from the excitement of New Distress Day? Well me too! If you missed the party on Saturday, you can catch the replay and meet the newest member of the distress family, Villainous Potion, over on Tim’s blog.
Today I’m sharing a quick run through of how I made this simple Boo card. Time can be of he essence and this is a quick make card and one you could easily adapt to a candy gift bag, tag etc. Here’s how…
Cut a piece of distress watercolor cardstock to 5.25 x 4.5 inches, add a couple of sprays of frayed burlap distress spray and dry.
Spray with 2 light sprays of villainous potion distress spray, add a spritz of water and dry with a heat tool. Villainous Potion puts the WICK in wicked! This photo needs smoke! LOL … if you watched the LIVE, you know.
With a palette knife, spread distress opaque texture paste through the sparkle stencil THS132 and set aside to dry.
As the texture paste dried the ink bled into the texture paste, turning it pink.
I placed the stencil back over the dried texture paste…
Painted a thin layer of white gesso through the stencil.
You could go back in again with the stencil and add collage medium and glitter…
but I didn’t LOL
Using the ghost stamp from halloween doodles CMS437 stamp set.
I masked the face with tape, inked up the stamp and removed the tape before stamping.
I love the creepiness of the faceless ghost and it has a more vintage and less cutesy look, which is more me.
Clearly I’m not going to mask the stamp each time so I used my craft knife to remove the face. I can push it back into place if I want the face later. Out of context this paragraph would make you wonder… 😉
I used one of the smaller masks die cut with the masquerade thinlits die set.
I mounted the ghost onto a little foam to make it look like it’s floating.
I stamped and fussy cut BOO from the bold frights CMS438 stamp set. Finally I stitched the edges and mounted onto metallic cardstock and a card made from distress kraft heavystock.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you love the Villainous Potion Distress as much as I do and I can’t wait to see what you make with it. Have a great Monday.
Zoe
Like this card a lot. Putting a mask on the ghost was a brilliant idea and I did watch the live with this colour revealing and it was superb. The makers always go above and beyond. Your imagination station is always working overtime. Good job Zoe!!! Happy Monday.
Du bist eine große Künstlerin 👩🎨.
Ich liebe alles was du machst.
Girl, you are BRAVE! I would freak my freak cutting the face out. Love the results though.
I love that ghost but I don’t know if I could cut out the face from my stamp! Love the card. Thanks for sharing.
I love this! I love that you cut the face out! I may try that-if I can overcome my fear of cutting it!
Awesome and yes, the cutting the face off comment out of context would have been reason for concern! Love your card! Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Love that the texture paste is so bright. Changing it’s face with the mask is so cool. Everything you make is amazing! Thank you for sharing.💜😍
Where?!?!… do you come up with your ideas???!!! I just love everything you do. You are my favorite one of Tim’s “makers”. I want to thank you for your detailed tutorials. It really helps with those of us who try to just spritz here and spray there. Never turns out like yours. I just love this card!
Ditto sandys’ comments.
Wonderfull! Your ideas are inspiring!!!
Love your card thank you for sharing
I love it ! Thanks for sharing 👻x
Such an awesome card. I’m a newbie. How are you stitching the card?
Wow you are so talented! I don’t even celebrate halloween but I really like your work the way you combine colors. Thank you.
Thank you for the cute idea, Zoe. That seems easy enough to do.
We can always depend on you to bring us unique samples with Tim’s supplies, but things that are still doable by those of us not as talented as you. You’re greatly appreciated!
Such a wonderful detailed tutorial. Thank you so much. It’s really cool ❤️❤️❤️
Really cool card and excellent explanation. Thanks for all the work you put into everything Tim.
