Hello Friends. With Valentines fast approaching I wanted to share a panel I made using the new Kitsch Flamingo distress for the Tim Holtz LIVE reveal. If you missed the party, you can catch up over on Tim’s blog.
I wanted to go a little more steampunk but wasn’t convinced it was going to work with kitsch flamingo, but I’m happy to report that I was wrong! The distress paint on foil with walnut stain distress crayon just works!
The kitsch flamingo distress paint over kraft heavystock is gorgeous. Paint on a thin layer and once dry, sand the edges.
When I assembled the banner I felt that the pink layer looked a little washed out. That worked perfectly as the layer for my kitsch + glitch card, but for the banner I wanted the pink to pop so I added kitsch flamingo oxide ink with embossing glaze over the top. I flicked a little paint at the edges of the base layer. I die cut the top layer frame of the banner from kraft heavystock and painted with ground espresso distress paint and once dry, sanded as before.
To make the heart I covered kraft heavystock with alcohol ink foil tape and die cut with the faceted heart thinlits die (664156). Before assembling the heart I embossed it using the 3D fourndry embossing folder (662717). I painted the heart with kitsch flamingo distress paint and once dry I rubbed some of the paint away with my finger and added walnut stain distress crayon.
I had used the tiny clips as clamps while the distress collage medium dried. I liked them so much that I left them in place. They really are so tiny!!
Finally I die cut “LOVE WINS” from the alphanumeric tiny type upper thinlits dies (664406) from kraft heavystock and covered with ground espresso distress paint. I use the distress collage medium bottle with precision tip to add glue to the back of the letters.
