Every time I saw Tim Holtz blog about slicing open his Texture Fades embossing folders, I would scoff a little at the madness of it. Take a sharp instrument to my precious craft supplies? Don’t be so ridiculous! So it was with trembling hands, that I finally took the plunge and sliced into mine!
I marked the folder and sliced along the fold, leaving 1/2 an inch un-cut at each end, (if things go wrong you can stick the folder back together with tape).
I can now feed my tags through the top of the folder and emboss any part.
I used different folders to emboss this Spring inspired tag. I am really pleased to have adopted this new attitude towards my craft tools.
Wow, that works! I do get why you would hesitate, I would have never thought about cutting open my precious folders untill now! Thank you for sharing!
Way cool. I’m gonna have to try that. Such a pretty tag!
I felt the same way but once I did it I was so pleased !! Miss everyone !
