  1. Love Wins

    11th February, 2021 by iGirlZoe

Hello Friends. With Valentines fast approaching I wanted to share a panel I made using the new Kitsch Flamingo distress for the Tim Holtz LIVE reveal. If you missed the party, you can catch up over on Tim’s blog.

I wanted to go a little more steampunk but wasn’t convinced it was going to work with kitsch flamingo, but I’m happy to report that I was wrong! The distress paint on foil with walnut stain distress crayon just works!

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
The kitsch flamingo distress paint over kraft heavystock is gorgeous. Paint on a thin layer and once dry, sand the edges.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
When I assembled the banner I felt that the pink layer looked a little washed out. That worked perfectly as the layer for my kitsch + glitch card, but for the banner I wanted the pink to pop so I added kitsch flamingo oxide ink with embossing glaze over the top. I flicked a little paint at the edges of the base layer. I die cut the top layer frame of the banner from kraft heavystock and painted with ground espresso distress paint and once dry, sanded as before.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
To make the heart I covered kraft heavystock with alcohol ink foil tape and die cut with the faceted heart thinlits die (664156). Before assembling the heart I embossed it using the 3D fourndry embossing folder (662717). I painted the heart with kitsch flamingo distress paint and once dry I rubbed some of the paint away with my finger and added walnut stain distress crayon.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I had used the tiny clips as clamps while the distress collage medium dried. I liked them so much that I left them in place. They really are so tiny!!

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
Finally I die cut “LOVE WINS” from the alphanumeric tiny type upper thinlits dies (664406) from kraft heavystock and covered with ground espresso distress paint. I use the distress collage medium bottle with precision tip to add glue to the back of the letters.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Steampunk Assemblage Clock

    10th February, 2021 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock

Hello friends. I’ve been busy making samples and catching up on all those blog posts I didn’t get finished last year. Christmas is well behind us, but this assemblage clock from the Tim Holtz idea-ology range can easily be adapted to any season. You could change the 25 to 14 and spray the trees with kitsch flamingo for Valentines.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
When Tim invited me to make some samples for the idea-ology Christmas release (IN 2020 LOL) he reminded me to “just do you” and it’s really good advice that I listened to when creating this Christmas steampunk clock.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
This isn’t the first time this exact idea-ology assemblage clock has been on my blog. In fact this clock is a bit of a world traveler. I repurposed a sample I made for the CHA show in 2017. It’s ok to repurpose… there are NO RULES when you create! Let’s get to the how…

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
First I cut several pieces of idea-ology metallic kraft stock and embossed with the foundry 3D texture fades folder (662717) and then sanded. If you have 12×12 paper you could cut one strip but I wanted to use the idea-ology metallic kraft stock so I cut 2 pieces and 2 smaller ones to cover the joins.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I cut slits into the outer edge to allow the kraft stock to be folded back where the back of the clock sits. I added tiny lights to the inside of the clock where the glass would normally sit as I wanted it to be open. I like that the glass is removable so you can choose to have your clock open or closed. I attached the tiny lights with hot glue making sure not to get the glue on the bulbs as it can short them.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I covered idea-ology baubles with mushroom alcohol ink and gunmetal mixative and sprayed woodland trees with ground espresso distress spray.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I hot glued the baubles into place in the bottom of the assemblage clock.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
Using alcohol ink foil tape, embossed with the 3D foundry folder to cover the edges of the clock. I covered with ground espresso distress paint and let air dry a little, before wiping away the excess paint with a cloth.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I added ivy from the garden greens thinlits set (661206), die cut from heavystock covered with foil tape to give some more structure so you are able to shape the leaves.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I covered a piece of card and laid across the bottom of the inside of the clock to create a platform for the numbers and trees to sit on.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I used alcohol foil tape again, also embossed with the 3D foundry folder to cover idea-ology number blocks. Here’s how I did it.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I inked up idea-ology number blocks with black soot distress archival ink, stamped onto the back of a piece of alcohol ink foil tape and fussy cut. I embossed the foil number with the 3D foundry folder, peeled off the backing and stuck on top of the number block.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
I added ground espresso distress paint and walnut stain distress crayon added to the platform with the woodland trees behind, which I added some mica flakes to.

igirlzoe: tim holtz idea-ology steampunk clock
Merry early Christmas… and thanks for stopping by.

  3. Kitsch + Glitch

    6th February, 2021 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink

Hello Friends. Kitsch Flamingo has most definitely landed. If you missed the LIVE launch, you can catch up on all the fun over on Tim’s blog.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
For this make I could definitely feel the dark side calling me back as I matched kitsch flamingo with the glitch 2 CMS404 stamps and gears from the mechanical bigz (665225) die.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I started with a wash of frayed burlap distress spray onto distress watercolor cardstock and dried. I used the ledger script CMS241 background stamp, one of my favourite ever background stamps, stamping in kitsch flamingo oxide ink.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I stamped the glitch 2 CMS404 stamp in distress archival ink and blended in a little frayed burlap distress ink with a paintbrush. I spritzed with water letting the kitsch flamingo and frayed burlap wick and dried with a heat tool.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
The kitsch flamingo distress paint works beautifully on the idea-ology thought tokens. It really pops against the metal.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I die cut gears from the mechanical bigz die (665225) in alcohol foil tape embossed with the foundry 3D folder (662717). I added ground espresso distress paint to the background and evergreen bough distress paint to the rivets.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I added an extra piece of alcohol foil tape that had been embossed with the 3D foundry folder (662717). I painted kitsch flamingo distress paint onto kraft heavystock and sanded the edges to make a co-ordinated background. I scored and folded another piece of kraft heavystock for the card base. I love this kraft heavystock, it’s so sturdy.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I finished the gears off by adding an idea-ology hardware head in the center. These remain one of my favourite and most used of the smaller idea-ology pieces.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
Thanks for stopping by. If you haven’t heard the news, Tim Holtz and Mario Rossi are returning to our screens on Saturday’s for LIVES on YouTube. Tune in at 9AM PT and don’t forget your snacks.

  4. Kitsch Flamingo

    2nd February, 2021 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink

Hello friends! Happy New Distress! If you haven’t seen Tim Holtz reveal the newest member of the distress family, head over to Tim’s Blog and give a warm welcome to Kitsch Flamingo!

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
When Tim asked me if I would make a few samples for the new distress it was without knowing what the new colour was! After I agreed we played “guess the new colour” and as Tim had asked me to make, I was confident it wasn’t pink! You should have seen my face! “You tricked me!” I said laughing. “It goes with brown” Tim said with a grin!

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I love that the different distress products give you a different palette for kitsch flamingo. For example, using the distress re-inker gives you a much darker and richer pink tone, whilst the distress paint is much lighter. I’m definitely team distress OG but the oxide in kitsch flamingo is awesome. It also works as the perfect ink to add distress embossing glaze to. The glaze is phenomenal. I’m going to need a bigger jar!! I rubbed a tiny bit of walnut stain distress crayon to tone down the pink.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
The distress spray is perfect to dye this piece of crinkle ribbon. I swiped a little walnut stain ink over the top and I genuinely love the vintage pink tone you get with kitsch flamingo and walnut stain!

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I added distress grit-paste through the grime stencil and once dry, painted a little evergreen bough distress paint and walnut stain distress crayon over the top. I love the juxtaposition between the gritty grunge and the kitsch flamingo distress embossing glaze over kitsch flamingo distress oxide ink.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
I love this sentiment from the tiny text stamps (CMS394), it goes perfectly with the moth from the specimen stamps (CMS410) and it reminds me of the encouragement that I’ve been given to create bravely. I think you’ll agree that kraft heavystock next to the kitsch flamingo, is a yummy match too.

igirlzoe: tim holtz kitsch flamingo distress ranger ink
Finally, I flicked a little Kitsch Flamingo distress paint at the tag and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink.

I have to admit it… Kitsch Flamingo has made me love pink!

    Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Christmastime

    16th December, 2020 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die

Hello there! I’m back today sharing this festive tag I made for the Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 3 release. You can see details of the release on Tim’s blog.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
Christmastime (664731) thinlits die set was one of my favourites from the release. It’s incredibly easy to assemble and you can change it up to suit your style. Let’s get into it…

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
I created a frame with the stitched rectangles (661189) thinlits die set cut from distress watercolor cardstock.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
I used the new falling stars (663732) thinlits die to cut the background, I moved it down and cut again to add more stars. I added vellum underneath the distress watercolor cardstock.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
Running adhesive foam to the edges of the frame to create a box, I added tiny lights behind the vellum and thread one light through to sit under the street light. I used vellum underneath the lamp die cut.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
I painted a small etcetera thickboard tag with picket fence distress paint and created a stencil from the falling stars (664732) thinlits die. Using a palette knife, I spread distress crackled texture paste through the stencil and set aside to dry and work its crackly magic.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
The alphanumeric shadow numbers (664808) thinlits dies were the perfect accent for the top of this tag and I love that you can still see the crackle star detail through the cut out.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
I used distress spray ink to create washes to drag the die cuts through and then dried with a heat tool. There isn’t many pieces so assembly is very simple.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
The merry christmas sentiment is die cut from an older thinlits die set, Home for the Holidays (662419) and spritzed with ground espresso distress ink spray.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix christmastime thinlits die
This reminds me of the first time that my husband and I went to get a real Christmas tree 12 years ago in Switzerland. We took it home on the bus and carried it the rest of the way. It is such a sweet memory.

  6. Distinguished Framelits

    10th December, 2020 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous

Hello friends. If you’ve been tuning in weekly to the Tim Holtz facebook LIVE Saturday demos, you will have seen the new Sizzix framelits sets; Snarky Cat and Distinguished.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
And if you know me, even a little, you probably know I love a hat and when the distinguished CMS371 stamps set were released I put hats on everything and I have fussy cut A LOT of hats, so I went a tiny bit hatty over having framelits to match my favourite ever stamp set. I was very lucky to have an advance copy of the distinguished framelits set as one accidentally (but not so accidentally) fell into a box that was being shipped to me! It’s not been easy keeping it under my hat. But now the cat is out the bag (I’m stopping I promise), let’s get to the banner panel details…

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
The base layer of my banner panel is the new distress kraft heavystock. It’s 130gsm and perfectly solid as the base, but I stitched through it with ease. The next piece up is idea-ology blackout kraft-stock, sanded mounted onto adhesive foam. The top layer is the new distress mixed media white heavystock. Oh this stuff is magic! The ink just acts differently on it to the mixed media heavystock. If you try it, I think you’ll understand what I mean. I stamped the background stamp from the professor 2 stamp set, this stamp is rarely off my desk at the moment. I added a label that I stamped onto the kraft stock and fussy cut. Finally I added a banner frame that I die cut from kraft stock and painted with ground espresso distress paint and sanded back. Everything is edged with ground espresso distress ink. I keep reaching for this instead of walnut stain at the moment. I think maybe ground espresso is my “winter brown”.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I added a piece of mica over the top of the label, which I glued into place with distress collage medium under the banner frame. I broke pieces away from the edges and you get this grungy tattered look.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I die cut and then stamped (yes in that order) the hat and suit. Check out the LIVE on Tim’s blog to see the great hack that his good friend Joy Kennedy showed him. It’s an absolutely brilliant technique, thanks Joy and Tim, this is a game changer and not just for these framelits, but for all the others in my collection too.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
Like this moth die, cut from the entomology set using the matching framelits die set and using the same technique. Whilst I love fussy cutting, I can’t tell you how many times I had cut the antenna off bugs before these dies.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
Look at the cut on the suit jacket. I’m a very very happy crafter!

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I used this display hanger from the idea-ology range to hang my banner panel. I dabbed on picket fence distress paint and when dry, added a little ground espresso distress paint with my finger. I added remnant rubs to the label sticker that comes with the hanger and added the epoxy bubble sticker over the top, also comes with the hanger.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
Thanks for stopping by, if the distinguished framelits dies are still available when you’re reading this and you would like to have a set, please don’t delay. Once the stock is sold out, they won’t be manufacturing more. I say this simply so you don’t miss out, especially if hats (or cats) are your jam,

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
If anyone wants me, I’ll be over here making Christmas cards. Check out Tim’s video on his blog!

  7. Vintage Holidays

    9th December, 2020 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock

Hello friends. Today I’m sharing a card that I made for the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Christmas stamp release. If you missed the LIVE, you can catch up on Tim’s blog.

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock
Vintage Holidays CMS423 stamp set is my favourite! The Santa is so perfect, I love love love the strip stamps and ephemera is always a win for me.

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock
I love the backgrounds on the The Poinsettia CMS426 stamp set and I used the text and music notes stamped in distress archival ink. The background is an antique linen distress wash, edged with ground espresso distress ink and stitched.

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock
I used the painting stamped images technique that Tim demoed during a Saturday LIVE. Fussy cut the Santa and mounted with foam adhesive. You can see the video demo on Tim’s blog and a quick step through in a recent post on my blog.

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock
Stamping the ephemera ticket from the same set, I then painted with picket fence distress paint and followed the technique as before. I added corners that I die cut using the retired bigz die ATC and Corners (657184). I love these corners.

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock
These strips are fantastic, I loved the stickers Tim released a few years ago, admittedly so much that I couldn’t use them (I know you understand), I’m so happy he has made them into stamps.

This strip was stamped in black soot distress archival ink, cut using my paper trimmer. I used the same technique as with the ticket ephemera piece. The background card was mounted onto distress cracked leather, blackout kraft-stock and the distress kraft heavystock.

igirlzoe: tim holtz stampers anonymous vintage holidays CMS423 stamps distress kraft heavystock
Thanks for stopping by, I have to go and get my Christmas cards made! I like to get things done early! 😉

  8. Tim Holtz Feathered Cardinal

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember

Hello friends. I’ve got some super exciting news. As part of the DieCember celebrations over at Simon Says Stamp, they are giving away this beautiful Tim Holtz feathered cardinal thinlits die with any Tim Holtz brand purchase! I know! I squealed too!

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
This beautiful Tim Holtz feathered cardinal thinlits die is free with any Tim Holtz brand purchase from Simon Says Stamp, while supplies last. If you wish to add one to your collection, please do not delay.

Please note that when you add a Tim Holtz product to your shopping basket, the die will automatically be added, (while supplies last).

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
Let’s get into how I made this guy, his name is Cecil and is it just me, or does he look like a troublemaker? Have you noticed that Tim designs his birds, owls, animals with a look in their eyes? …just sayin! #troublemaker 😉

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
I die cut the feathered cardinal from distress watercolor cardstock and pulled the pieces through an ink wash on my glass media mat. Simply spray distress ink onto the glass media mat (2 sprays and 1 of water) and then dragged the cardstock through the inky wash and dried with a heat tool.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
Next I blended in distress inks using a mini blending tool.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
This is a very easy build, just 5 pieces and a little distress collage medium.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
For the background, I dragged a piece of mixed media heavystock through the same ink wash and dried with a heat tool. I added some droplets that I picked up from the non stick mat portion of my glass media mat, the non stick mat makes the best ink droplets ever!! I added a background stamp from the music and advert CMS358 stamp set, stamped in distress archival ink.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
I die cut a frame from the stitched ovals die set (661188) and some branches from the ghost town die set (664194) which I blended with distress ink. These are definitely my favourite of the small branches, they’re really twiggy. The dies are still available online, I’ve seen them on Amazon if anyone is looking for them. I also die cut some foliage from the mini holiday greens die set (661597).

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
I mounted the cardinal inside the frame on adhesive foam and added a sentiment from the tiny text christmas CMS424 stamp set.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
Finally I mounted the card onto idea-ology metallic kraft-stock and used distress kraft heavystock for my card base, at 130gsm, it’s a really sturdy card base.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix feathered cardinal thinlits simon says stamp diecember
I seriously love this die and it’s going to make an appearance on my Christmas cards, tags and gift wrap this year. I hope you’ll celebrate DieCember over at Simon Says Stamp and grab yourself a feathered cardinal die, before they fly away!

  9. Monsters Reunion Christmas Edition

    3rd December, 2020 by iGirlZoe

Hello friends. It’s December and I finally have to let go of Halloween, but maybe just one last nod in that direction as I move into my merry makes! Did you catch the Tim Holtz facebook LIVE on Saturday? It was the final part of the four part Christmas LIVE demos. You can catch up on all the fun on Tim’s blog.

It’s been a monster of a year (see what I did there) and Saturday’s with Tim and Mario have been a bright light. I am so very grateful for all the work they have dedicated to bring us hours and hours of creative inspiration and much needed escapism. The 4 part Christmas demos have definitely charged my Christmas making batteries.

During Saturday’s LIVE Tim showed this cool paint and stamp technique. It’s such a quick, easy and fun technique and looks incredible on kraft! I highly recommend that you watch the video demo but here’s a quick run down…

Using sticky grid to hold it in place, I put a #8 size tag, (best cut from kraft heavystock with tag dies), onto my travel stamp platform. I placed the stamp onto the tag and when I was happy with it’s placement, I closed the lid and pushed down to make sure the stamp was attached to the lid. I inked up the stamp with distress archival ink and stamped once.

I left my tag in place to paint as I was only doing one of each and removed the lid of the platform while I painted. If you are doing multiple tags you would just make sure they were positioned in the same place when you stamped the second time.

I used distress paint to paint over the stamped image, not worrying about covering the detailed lines. I know it looks like a hot mess here, but wait for it…

Once the paint was dry, I inked up the stamp again with distress archival ink and stamped over the top.

I stamped santa hats and candy canes from the mini crazy bird and things CMS250 stamps. I would have die cut them with my matching framelits dies using the great hack from Joy Kennedy that Tim showed in a previous Saturday demo, but I couldn’t put my hands on them so I fussy cut.

I cut the candy cane in half and added a piece to each side of his hand to look as those he was clutching it.

I added a hat and instantly these stamps became “Christmas Edition” 😉

I blended distress ink into the tag and used the distress sprayer to add water droplets. Using a palette knife I spread distress texture paste through the flurries THS151 stencil and set aside to dry. Finally I stitched around the edges of the tag with my sewing machine and added a little of the idea-ology velvet trim, which is DIVINE! I’m pretty sure it’s sold out everywhere and I’m not surprised. If anyone sees any… let me know! 😉

Thank you Tim for inspiring me to make these. I was asking for Monsters Reunion Christmas edition stamps and Tim told me to stick a Santa hat on the ones I had! LOL So I did and then I couldn’t stop! This is what happened… 😉

Monsters Reunion CMS381 Stamps + Mini Bird Crazy and Things CMS250 Stamps

I was going to stop there but why stop when I had last years STAMPtember set to play with too.

Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2019 Stamps (not available) + Mini Bird Crazy and Things CMS250 Stamps

Thanks for stopping by and for hopefully smiling at the silliness. Adding a candy cane and a santa hat can make everything Christmassy.

  10. Winged

    24th November, 2020 by iGirlZoe

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous

Hello friends. It’s been a while since my last post! I’ve been getting ready for Christmas and making, but I wanted to share a card I made for the Tim Holtz Chapter 4 Sizzix launch. If you missed the facebook LIVE, you can catch up on all the fun over on Tim’s blog.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I’m such a fan of the 3D impresslits folders, having them cut and emboss together in one pass is so cool and the new winged 3D impresslits folder (664248) from chapter 4 is my new favourite, the detail is insane.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
    See what I mean!! WOWZER!

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I cut 3 wings from one piece of 4.25 x 5.5 inch distress watercolor cardstock. Even in the raw you can see the depth of the embossing!

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I tried blending in a few of my favourite shades of brown.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
For the background I used a palette knife to cover the cardstock randomly with white gesso. Allowing to dry, I then added a tap of speckled egg distress oxide and a little distress opaque grit-paste here and there. Once dry, I blended in distress ink and a little walnut distress crayon with my finger.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I added some remnant rubs and a top hat and suit jacket from the distinguished CMS371 stamp set which now has a matching framelits die set, available while stocks last so don’t delay.

igirlzoe: tim holtz sizzix winged 3D impresslits distinguished framelits dies stampers anonymous
I stitched the card with my sewing machine and mounted onto idea-ology blackout kraftstock and distress cracked leather cardstock. I love the new cracked leather cardstock looks like real leather when covered with distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you make some time to make.
